Mark Nannup is a Yamatji/Noongar man from Western Australia who is currently completing his Masters at the University of Western Australia. Mark grew up in Meekatharra and Port Hedland, and moved to Melbourne in 2013. He sat on the Victorian NAIDOC committee board from 2015-2018 and was the first Indigenous engagement coordinator for Midsumma Festival in 2017. He then completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Acting at the VCA. Since completing his degree in 2019, Mark has starred in the theatre production ‘HECATE’, directed by Kylie Bracknell. This production subverts the Shakespeare play of Macbeth into an entire version spoken in Noongar language. In 2021, Mark went on to voice Lo Wei, in the dubbing of ‘Fist of Fury Noongar Daa,’ also directed by Kylie Bracknell. This was another Australian first, where an entire movie was dubbed in the language of Noongar people. Mark is a respected community member and change-maker.
